Acting Chief Executive Carrie Lam says the Government will try to have as many items passed by the Legislative Council Finance Committee as possible before the council's term expires in July.
Speaking to reporters ahead of today's Executive Council meeting, Mrs Lam said there are certain procedures that need to be in place before the Government can put an item on the Finance Committee's agenda.
The Government prioritises items according to their importance to people's livelihood and degree of controversy, she added.
Noting that the Belt & Road scholarship initiative has attracted some debate, Mrs Lam said the Government will follow the usual practice in arranging the item's funding application for the Finance Committee's consideration.
