Chief Executive CY Leung says he exercised no privilege when his daughter had her baggage returned to her by airline staff at the airport.
Speaking to reporters today he said he learnt that his daughter accidently left her baggage behind at the airport when he rang her to say goodbye.
He said he gave no instructions to anyone to address him as "Chief Executive Leung" in a subsequent phone conversation with airline staff.
He said if he wanted to interfere with the way the airline handled the issue then he would have rung the carrier's or security company’s senior management.
