Chief Executive CY Leung met with Special Representative for Climate Change of China Xie Zhenhua at the Chief Executive's Office today.
Mr Xie is in Hong Kong for a climate change seminar.
Mr Leung noted that Mr Xie led a delegation to the 21st United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris last year and had made significant contributions to the negotiations, laying down a clear direction and objectives for global co-operation to address climate change.
The Chief Executive said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government attaches great importance to the efforts in addressing climate change and will continue to take forward various mitigation measures, adding that he looked forward to closer co-operation with the Mainland in tackling this important issue.
