InnoTech officers appointed

David Chung has been appointed Under Secretary for Innovation & Technology, while Sandra Leung has been made Political Assistant to the Secretary for Innovation & Technology.

 

The appointments are from March 1 and February 11.

 

Mr Chung, 50, has a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) in Computer Science from Imperial College London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from Hong Kong Chinese University, a Master of Business Administration from Hong Kong Open University and a Doctorate in Engineering Management from Hong Kong City University.

 

He has more than 28-years' experience in information technology strategic management and entrepreneurship development, and has served as Chief Technology Officer at Cyberport Management Company.

 

Ms Leung, 43, has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Ottawa University and a Master of Science in Business Administration majoring in e-Commerce from San Francisco State University. 

 

She has specialised in developing IT solutions and digital marketing communication strategy, and was engaged by the Our Hong Kong Foundation to provide services related to IT infrastructure development, social media platforms and digital content.

 

Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang welcomed the new officers.

 

"I am very happy that even given the challenging environment, the conditions of Hong Kong today, that they are willing to give up their current job and join my team to help Hong Kong improve the conditions and environment for innovation and technology, and to help Hong Kong grow economically, and also to help Hong Kong young entrepreneurs to have a better chance to realise their dreams."
