Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah today met with Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China Liu Peng in Beijing to introduce the latest sports developments promoted by the Hong Kong SAR Government.
Mr Lau thanked the General Administration of Sport of China for supporting Hong Kong's sports development.
"It provides the opportunity for Hong Kong athletes to participate in high-level national games. I hope the two sides can continue to cooperate on sports exchanges," he said.
Mr Lau also met with All-China Youth Federation President He Junke today to discuss new opportunities and youth exchanges between the two places.
Yesterday, the Home Affairs chief met some Hong Kong undergraduates studying in Beijing and learned about their academic and living conditions.
