Chief Secretary Carrie Lam has voted in the District Council polls and called on people to exercise their civic rights and also cast their ballots.

Mrs Lam voted at the German Swiss International School polling station on The Peak this morning. She noted that elected seats for the 2015 elections have risen by 19 to 431 with the abolition of all appointed seats. 

Describing the District Councils as the Government’s major partner, the Chief Secretary said she was impressed with the councillors’ dedication to service whenever she met them on her district visits, adding that the Government will work closely with councillors to serve the people.
