Chief Secretary Carrie Lam and Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So escorted Australia’s Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau on a visit to PMQ today.

The Governor and her delegation received a briefing on the vision of PMQ as a design hub and its operation and management.

They visited the quarters for PMQ-sponsored guests, and visited stores, studios, an architectural office and a fabrication laboratory. They also toured the exhibition spaces and marketplace.

During Mrs Lam’s official visit to Australia last month, she expressed Hong Kong’s desire to strengthen collaboration with the state of Victoria in the area of design.

“I received very enthusiastic responses. My colleagues are already following up with the Victorian Government and the Melbourne City Council with a view to materialising projects for collaboration. The Governor's timely visit to Hong Kong, and to PMQ in particular, will certainly add impetus to the cooperation between Hong Kong and the State of Victoria in this area," she said.

Before the visit, Mrs Lam hosted a lunch for Governor Dessau and her husband Anthony Howard at her official residence.
