Chief Executive CY Leung has expressed his condolences for people who died in a Bangkok explosion last night, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Speaking to reporters ahead of an Executive Council meeting today, Mr Leung urged the Thai Government to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident.
He said Immigration Department officers have been sent to Bangkok to help Hong Kong residents there. He appealed for people there to pay attention to their personal safety.
Hospital Authority doctors and more Immigration Officers and will be sent to provide assistance and support, he added.
The Security Bureau will make an announcement on any update to the travel alert, he said.
