Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen has made it clear that acts carried out in Hong Kong are only regulated by Hong Kong law.
Mr Yuen was responding to concerns that a new national security law passed by the Central Government would affect Hong Kong people's freedoms.
He stressed to reporters this morning that the new law was a declaration of principles, similar to a blueprint for national security, and did not mention any new crimes to be prosecuted by it.
Mr Yuen added that there was no need to worry about the new law applying to people's behaviour in Hong Kong.
