Chief Executive CY Leung will take Cathay Pacific's direct flight to Boston on May 4 and attend the airline's dinner reception there to celebrate the launch of direct flight services between the two cities, and show support for Hong Kong’s aviation industry.
Mr Leung will lead a delegation comprising government officials, industry leaders and academics from the innovation and technology sector to visit Boston's top-notch research institutions.
On Tuesday, Mr Leung will visit the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab and the Harvard Stem Cell Institute. He will also attend a luncheon hosted by New York’s Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, to meet with representatives of Boston business chambers and local leaders.
Mr Leung will return to Hong Kong on May 7. During his absence, Financial Secretary John Tsang will be Acting Chief Executive.
