Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam and Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen discussed political reform proposals with Mainland officials in Beijing today.
Mr Tam said the two sides discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the different proposals and their feasibility.
Both sides agreed the 2017 reform proposal is not the ultimate plan, and will promote this message to the public.
Mainland officials hope the political reform proposal can be passed and are willing to speak with various sectors of Hong Kong.
Mr Tam said the Hong Kong Government will try to facilitate the discussions.
Mr Yuen said the discussion on the co-location arrangement for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link was comprehensive and useful, but it is premature to disclose the details.
