A report in Apple Daily today includes quotes from the Chief Executive that are completely untrue, a statement from the Chief Executive’s Office says, adding it regrets the newspaper’s false report.
The report concerns the Legislative Council Finance Committee’s examination of the establishment of an Innovation & Technology Bureau.
Both the title and content of the report quote the Chief Executive as saying there is no need for LegCo members to raise questions on the bureau’s funding.
The statement notes that, at his media stand-up session yesterday before the Executive Council meeting, the Chief Executive said the LegCo Finance Committee members need not filibuster and raise questions in the way seen last week.
