Chief Executive CY Leung said today that it is abundantly clear the protesters have breached the law and there is no reason for them to defy the court order.

Mr Leung told reporters before the Executive Council meeting that "Hong Kong is a law-abiding society and the rest of Hong Kong expect the occupiers, like everyone else in Hong Kong, to follow the law."

He noted that the occupiers' demand on constitutional development, especially on universal suffrage to elect the Chief Executive in 2017, is also very clear and that he did not see any point in resisting the court order.
