Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing attended the 4th Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Forum in Taipei today.
Attending as the Vice-Chairperson of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic & Cultural Co-operation & Promotion Council, he met Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic & Cultural Co-operation Vice-Chairman Dr Lin Chu-chia.
Mr Tsang said Hong Kong and Taiwan share the same cultural origin but have their own characteristics. The discussion of culture and creativity between the two cities will continue to reflect this development from a shared origin into different streams, he added.
Mr Tsang later met Hong Kong participants in a youth cultural and creativity camp held by the forum for the first time.
He also met the Guoguang Opera Company and visited cultural facilities.
Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong tomorrow.
