June 10, 2014

The Hong Kong Government welcomes the Central Government’s White Paper on "The Practice of the 'One Country, Two Systems' Policy in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region", the country’s first such paper on this topic.

The paper, published today, sets out the ‘One country, two systems’ principle’s practice in Hong Kong, and the Central Government’s review, evaluation and vision of Hong Kong’s development.

Since the reunification almost 17 years ago, Hong Kong has benefited from the unique advantages of 'One country, two systems', attaining economic and social development achievements, the Hong Kong Government said.

The paper will be uploaded to Government websites to allow all Hong Kong people to read and understand it. Central Government officials will also be invited to brief Hong Kong officials and community members on its contents.
