HK, Shanghai to broaden cooperation

Chief Executive CY Leung said Hong Kong and Shanghai, each having their own advantages, can contribute to the country’s further development.
 
Mr Leung made the remark during a meeting with CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee Secretary Han Zheng in Shanghai today. He was accompanied by Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung and Secretary for Development Paul Chan.
 
Mr Han said the two cities are like family and can co-operate to a greater extent, noting Shanghai could learn from Hong Kong's economy and trade.
 
Mr Leung agreed and said he was happy to see Shanghai’s rapid development.
 
He will address the 2nd Annual Urban Land Institute Asia Pacific Summit opening ceremony tomorrow, and will visit the Bridge 8 creative industry park, YK Pao School and the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.
 
He will also meet Hong Kong people studying and doing business in Shanghai.
