CE-elect sorry for structures
June 22, 2012
Chief Executive-elect CY Leung has issued an apology after four more illegal structures were found at his home on The Peak.
Mr Leung said today he will co-operate with Buildings Department inspectors and assign professionals to demolish the structures as soon as possible.
Secretary for Development Carrie Lam said the department will act in accordance with the law, disregarding the background and title of the owner.
Mrs Lam said she will handle the case impartially as it is her duty to ensure Hong Kong’s building safety.
Officials from the department inspected Mr Leung's houses today and found the illegal structures.
The department will issue an advisory letter advising him to rectify the irregularities.
