Pay trend indicators announced
May 22, 2012
The net pay trend indicators for civil servants of the lower, middle and upper salary bands are 4.56%, 5.8% and 5.26%, the Civil Service Bureau announced today.
The indicators, validated by the Pay Trend Survey Committee, are derived by deducting the cost of increments paid to civil servants in 2011-12, from the gross pay trend indicators which are 5.71%, 6.64% and 6.01% for the lower, middle and upper salary bands.
The Chief Executive in Council will decide on the rates of civil service pay adjustment for 2012-13 having regard to the net pay trend indicators, the state of Hong Kong’s economy, the Government’s fiscal position, changes in the cost of living, the staff sides’ pay claims and civil service morale.
