Budget well thought-out, responsible: CE
February 01, 2012
Chief Executive Donald Tsang has hailed the Financial Secretary's 2012-13 Budget as well thought-out and responsible, and called on legislators and the public to support it.
He said it responds to public aspirations for social progress and demonstrates the Government's determination to maintain sustainable growth.
Despite it being the current administration's final budget, he said the Government has focused not only on present needs, but also on Hong Kong's long-term development.
Mr Tsang said the Budget will help build a stable and dynamic platform to propel further economic development.
He said the administration is aware of the pressures the public faces, and the Financial Secretary has tabled additional proposals, including tax concessions, to help people from all classes.
The budget supports small and medium enterprises, and maps out strategies to strengthen economic and financial co-operation between Hong Kong and the Mainland.
