Election Committee register set for Feb 1

The Registration & Electoral Office says the final register of the new term Election Committee will be released on February 1.
 
The final register contains the names of all members of the new term Election Committee, who will elect the fourth term Chief Executive on March 25.
 
The 1,200 committee members come from the industrial, commercial and financial sectors; the professions sector; the labour, social services, religious and other sectors; and, the Legislative Council, District Council, Heung Yee Kuk, Hong Kong deputies to the National People’s Congress, and Hong Kong members of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference sectors.
 
The nomination period for the Chief Executive Election will start on February 14.  As the term of office of the new term Election Committee starts February 1, Election Committee members can only subscribe to the nomination form of the candidates running for the Chief Executive Election on the starting date of the new term Election Committee. Each member can nominate only one candidate.
 
Copies of the final register will be available for public inspection from February 1 during ordinary business hours from Monday to Friday at the Registration & Electoral Office, 10/F Harbour Centre, Harbour Road, Wan Chai, and 10/F Guardian House, Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai, and all District Offices.
 
A notice on the inspection of the final register will be gazetted on February 1.
