Michael Suen affirms kidney problem

April 27, 2011
Secretary for Education Michael Suen today said he is receiving dialysis treatment for a kidney problem, but this has not affected his work.

Mr Suen said he had the treatment at night and it will not disturb his daily work. He had reported his health condition to Chief Executive Donald Tsang around November last year.

He said he sometimes suffers fatigue but his health condition is stable. He visited Vietnam and Brunei for four days this month, during which he did not have the dialysis, but this did not affect his health.

Mr Suen said if he found his workload too heavy and it affected his health, he would decide whether to continue in his post.
