Henry Tang inspects Riverside Scene show

Chief Secretary Henry Tang today inspected the preparatory work for the exhibition Animated Version of the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival.

 

Mr Tang was briefed on the progress of the exhibition preparations, the transportation arrangements, and crowd-control measures planned for the exhibition period.

 

Describing the exhibition as a spectacular cultural event, Mr Tang was glad to see that everything was gearing up for the exhibition's opening tomorrow.

 

He praised the Leisure & Cultural Services Department for working tirelessly with the animation's production team.

 

"They have overcome various technical difficulties to present to the Hong Kong audience this much acclaimed exhibit of the China Pavilion in its best form," he said.

 

Mr Tang also thanked the Hong Kong Jockey Club for its generous sponsorship and expressed appreciation to the public transport operators for making special arrangements to facilitate visitors. 

 

He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Co-ordination for their strong support.

 

The Transport Department urges people to make use of public transport to visit the exhibition. During the exhibition period from November 9 to 29, visitors may choose the following public transport services to and from AsiaWorld-Expo:

 * MTR Airport Express Line;

* MTR Tung Chung Line to connect to bus route S1 or special shuttle bus route X1 at Tung Chung Station Bus Terminus;

* Eight "E" bus routes with destinations at AsiaWorld-Expo, i.e. E11, E21, E22, E22A, E22B, E22P, E32 and E41;

* Nine "A" bus routes will be diverted via AsiaWorld-Expo on their journeys to the airport, i.e. A10, A11, A12, A21, A22, A31, A41, A41P and A43.

 

When leaving the venue, visitors may take buses at the designated boarding area to the Airport Ground Transportation Centre to interchange with other bus routes to other areas in Hong Kong.
