At about noon, the victim who was carrying the gold in a briefcase and the cash in a rucksack, was hit from behind with a hard object by a man when he was about to enter a public toilet on Hong King Street.

The victim's minor injuries were treated by ambulance officers at the scene.

The culprit, aged about 25 to 27, is about 175 centimetres tall and of medium build with short hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact investigators on 2473 8338.
