Police issue 315 traffic tickets in crackdown

Hong Kong Police

Police officers issued a total of 315 fixed-penalty tickets and 58 summonses to road users violating traffic regulations in a two-day crackdown on Hong Kong Island.

 

Among the fixed-penalty tickets issued, 246 were for illegal parking and 69 for other offences. 

 

Twenty pedestrians and 172 drivers were cautioned for committing minor traffic offences. Officers also distributed pamphlets on road safety.

 

A total of 1,215 traffic accidents involving casualties occurred on Hong Kong Island from January to May this year - and 52.9% were attributed to pedestrian negligence.
