23 arrested in drink-driving crackdown

Police arrested 23 drivers in a drink-driving crackdown which ended today.

 

Since the start of the operation on December 22, 4,160 drivers were required to take random breath tests and 23 of them were arrested.

 

In addition to the operation, Police arrested another 25 drivers for drink driving during the period, in which 14 were involved in traffic accidents, and 11 were driving erratically.

 

Since the introduction of the new legislation on February 9, 2009, Police have conducted random breath tests on 40,893 drivers and arrested 287 of them.
