Heroes honoured: Pop star Kelly Chen presents the Good Citizen of the Year Award to Leung Ting-ki and Leung Ka-chu.
*

Forty people have been given Good Citizen Awards for helping Police catch more than 40 suspects for offences including murder, robbery, burglary, theft, indecent assault, deception and arson.

Commending their bravery, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Peter Yam today said the award scheme helps promote the spirit of mutual help and will inspire more people to join Police in the fight against crime.

Leung Ting-ki and his son Leung Ka-chu won the Good Citizen of the Year Award for helping Police arrest a culprit who tried to rob a taxi driver in Sham Shui Po in June.

They were presented with a plaque and $3,000 each.
