Customs & Excise Department

Customs officers have arrested a Malaysian man and an African man for trafficking 1.6kg of heroin worth $1.4 million.

Officers stopped the 49-year-old Malaysian upon his arrival at HK-Macau Ferry Terminal yesterday. The heroin was found in a false compartment in his baggage.

The 32-year-old African who collected the drug-laden baggage in Yau Ma Tei last night was later arrested.

They will be charged with drug trafficking and will appear in Eastern Magistracy tomorrow.
