Police probe fatal Mong Kok crash

Police have arrested a 34-year-old minibus driver after a traffic accident in Mong Kok left two women dead, and seven injured.

 

At about 11.40 pm, a bus traveling eastbound on Mong Kok Road collided with the minibus at Sai Yeung Choi South Street. The minibus climbed the pavement of Mong Kok Road, striking nine women pedestrians.

 

Five of the injured pedestrians were sent to Kwong Wah Hospital while the other four and the minibus driver were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

 

A 48-year-old woman later died at Kwong Wah Hospital, while a 25-year-old woman died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.
