214 tickets issued in traffic-day blitz

Police issued 214 fixed-penalty tickets and 225 summonses to motorists and pedestrians for violating traffic regulations during a crackdown in Kowloon East.

 

From 7am to 11pm yesterday, 199 officers enforced traffic laws at accident blackspots in Kowloon East. They gave verbal warnings to 259 pedestrians and 150 drivers for jaywalking and minor offences, and issued 174 fixed-penalty tickets for illegal parking.

 

There were 1,328 traffic accidents in which people were injured in Kowloon East from January to August this year.
