A taxi driver and his passenger died in a collision with a private car in Cheung Sha Wan this morning.

A 43-year-old man was driving his car along Ching Cheung Road towards Wong Tai Sin at about 6am. Near Butterfly Valley Road, he lost control of the car, hitting a road sign and a lamp post before crossing the central divider and colliding with the taxi that was travelling in the opposite direction.

The taxi driver, aged 51, and his 35-year-old passenger, both men, were certified dead at the scene. The private car driver and his 27-year-old female passenger were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital.

Anyone who saw the accident or who has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2773 5200.
