Police issued 154 Fixed Penalty Tickets and 177 summonses to motorists and pedestrians violating traffic regulations in east Kowloon yesterday.

The Kowloon East Regional Traffic Day was conducted between 7am and 11pm and saw more than 200 officers deployed to enforce regulations at accident blackspots.

Another 122 tickets were issued for illegal parking and other offences, with 152 pedestrians and five drivers verbally warned for jaywalking and other minor offences. Officers also distributed safety pamphlets to road users.

More than 1,300 traffic accidents occurred in eastern Kowloon from January to July this year.
