Alert issued on bogus phone system

*
Monetary Authority logo

The Monetary Authority warns of a fraudulent voice response unit on telephone number 6527 5598, which asks Dah Sing Bank customers to register their account number and related personal identification number.

The bank said neither it nor the Dah Sing Financial Group and its subsidiaries have a connection with the fraudulent phone system. It has referred the case to the police.

Anyone who has provided his or her personal information through the system or has conducted any financial transactions through it should call the bank's customer hotline on 2828 8000, or Police on 2860 5012.

The authority urged people to beware of possible fake systems that claim to represent banks or financial institutions, asking for personal or account information.
