Customs officers have charged three drug traffickers after making seizures worth $110,000 in Tai Po and Mong Kok.
About 5.40pm yesterday, officers intercepted a 41-year-old man near Tai Wo KCR Station and found 260 pieces of straw segments in a plastic bag containing 110g of heroin. They then searched two Tai Po flats and found another 186 straw segments containing 70g of heroin and two small packets containing 10g of cocaine. The drugs were for local distribution.
The man was charged with two counts of trafficking and one of possession and will appear at Fanling Magistracy tomorrow.
In another operation, officers intercepted a 24-year-old man in a Tung Choi Street building in Mong Kok about 9pm yesterday and found 1g of cocaine. They seized another 28g of cocaine, 35g of ketamine and 153 tablets of Erimin 5 at a flat in the same building, arresting a 20-year-old man. The drugs were intended for local entertainment venues.
The two were charged with trafficking, and the 24-year-old was further charged with one count of possession. Both will appear in Kowloon City Magistracy tomorrow.
