Dragonair accident report released

*
Civil Aviation Department

The Civil Aviation Department has published its investigation report into an incident aboard a Dragonair Airbus A330 on July 18, 2003, which seriously injured two cabin crew. Ten other crew and three passengers sustained minor injuries.

It is available at the Publications Sales Unit of the Information Services Department, or download it here.

The accident was investigated in accordance with Hong Kong Civil Aviation (Investigation of Accidents) Regulations (Cap.448 sub. leg. B), to determine the circumstances and the causes and to avoid future incidents. It is not for apportioning blame or liability.

Experts conducted the investigation according to International Civil Aviation Organisation standards. The report contains an analysis of the circumstances of the accident, identifies possible causes and makes safety recommendations.

Throughout the investigation, all concerned parties were given ample opportunity to comment on the report's findings.
