New look set for Police
*
police new uniform
Neat beat: Police officers will switch to their new working dress on December 5.
*

Police officers will have a smart new look following the full implementation of new uniforms on December 5. The new kit is designed to offer more comfort, flexibility and practicability, and enhance the force's operational efficiency.

Made of different fabrics with heat-retaining, breathable, waterproof and fire-retardant features, the newly designed uniform incorporates six basic design concepts, namely uniformity, unisex, practicality, layering, comfort and safety.

Under a pilot scheme conducted since January last year, the new kit has been field tested in two phases involving seven formations - the Emergency Units of Hong Kong Island, New Territories South and New Territories North, Traffic Hong Kong Island, Airport District, Railway District and Police Headquarters Security.

Before finalising the design, feedback from officers participating in the trial has been thoroughly and a number of modifications made.
