PLA may have to pay accident levies
*

The People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison may  be required to pay levies to the Traffic Accident Victims Assistance Fund.

Responding to a question from Andrew Cheng in the Legislative Council today, Secretary for Security Regina Ip said provisions under the Traffic Accident Victims (Assistance Fund) Ordinance are not clear on whether Garrison vehicles and drivers should pay the levy.

She said the Government is looking into whether the Garrison should be required to pay levy to the Fund and is studying any necessary legislative amendments.
