Chief Executive Donald Tsang will visit Shanghai and Jiangsu April 26 to May 1 to attend the Expo 2010 Shanghai China opening ceremony and open the Hong Kong Pavilion.
Mr Tsang will inspect the pavilion and Hong Kong's Urban Best Practices Area exhibition.
In Jiangsu Mr Tsang will visit Wuxi, Nanjing, Yangzhou and Suzhou to learn about the role of the Yangtze Delta region as the Mainland's biggest economic circle, and to establish closer ties and explore co-operation opportunities.
Besides meeting provincial and municipal officials, Mr Tsang will visit key economic development areas and technology enterprises.
He will be accompanied by Chief Executive's Office Director Raymond Tam, Director of Information Services Michael Wong, Private Secretary to the Chief Executive Bernadette Linn, Information Co-ordinator Andy Ho, Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Executive Chan Kin-ping and Assistant Director (Media) Vic Yau.
Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong May 2. During his absence Chief Secretary Henry Tang will be Acting Chief Executive April 26 to 28, and on May 2. Financial Secretary John Tsang will be acting Chief Executive April 28 to May 1.
