Flat sales fall 23%

Land Registry

The number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in October was 11,112, down 23% on September, but up 83.5% on October last year.

 

The Land Registry said today the total value of these agreements was $45.5 billion, down 32.2% on September, but 140% more compared with October last year.

 

About 9,300 of these agreements were for residential units, 24.3% down on September, but 97.1% more than October last year. The total value stood at $36.3 billion, 35.3% less than September.

 

The statistics do not include sales under the Home Ownership Scheme, the Private Sector Participation Scheme or the Tenants Purchase Scheme, except those that have paid the premium.

 

There were 462,122 searches of land registers made by the public in October, down 1.3% on September.
