No new SARS cases for 9th day running
*
Department of Health

There were no new SARS cases reported in the last 24 hours, marking the ninth day in a row with no new cases. There were also no fatalities recorded.

A total of 1,403 patients - 80% of the total number of confirmed cases - have recovered and been discharged from public hospitals. Seven of them were sent home today.

Most of the 34 patients currently under active treatment in hospital are responding positively to the new treatment protocol. Of them, 12 are in intensive care.

Another 22 patients are recovering in convalescence, in preparation for discharge.

There is one suspected case, and laboratory tests are in progress.

Temperature checks for all passengers at control points continue, with five were screened out for further medical checks yesterday. They were all confirmed to be healthy and continued their trips.
