Sha Tin noise barrier retrofitting works gazetted

*

The Transport & Housing Bureau has proposed retrofitting noise barriers on Sha Tin Road near City One Shatin and Belair Gardens to mitigate traffic noise.

Gazetted today, the proposed works include constructing approximately 640 metres of vertical noise barriers, cantilevered noise barriers and full enclosure.

Works will also include temporary closure and resurfacing/reinstatement or permanent closure and re-provision of sections of the existing highways, footpaths and cycle tracks; and ancillary works such as providing temporary traffic diversions, traffic aids and street lighting.

People who object to the proposed works should write to the Secretary for Transport & Housing, 16th floor Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, by December 16.

The works plan and scheme are available for inspection at the Central & Western and Sha Tin District Offices and Sha Tin District Lands Office.
