68 estates ready for digital TV

*
Housing Authority

Tenants of 68 public rental housing estates in most urban districts can enjoy digital terrestrial television broadcasts from December 31. The Housing Authority is upgrading the estates' communal aerial broadcast distribution systems.

To tie in with the phased digital terrestrial TV broadcasting being launched by the two free domestic television stations, the authority has arranged to upgrade work in two phases.

The first phase has been completed, covering 56 estates in Kowloon, part of Sha Tin and on Hong Kong Island North receiving signals from the Temple Hill Transmission Station. These estates, comprising 378 housing blocks, will start receiving digital TV signals from December 31. To read the estate list click here.

Upgrading work has also been completed for another 12 estates that will receive transmissions from the same station. However, blocks receiving the signal from other stations will only receive digital TV signals once the stations start transmitting them. Click here to see the estate list.

Upgrades for all other estates will be completed by August.
