Tuen Mun Road upgrades proposed
*
Highways Department

The Environment, Transport & Works Bureau has proposed reconstructing and improving Tuen Mun Road to upgrade its overall operation. Works are scheduled to start in early 2008 for completion in five years.

The proposed works include widening existing at-grade carriageways and vehicular bridges to current expressway standards; re-provisioning and modifying existing footbridges; improving the merging/diverging arrangement; replacing the existing road-restraint system with new types of parapets and roadside barriers; and installing cantilever/vertical noise barriers and semi-noise enclosures.

Details of the project were gazetted today. People who object to the proposed works should write to the bureau by July 3.
