Lok Ma Chau security claim refuted
*

The Environment, Transport & Works Bureau has rejected media reports of security loopholes at Lok Ma Chau Terminus and the boundary control facility.

The bureau said the terminus building and the adjoining public transport interchange are still under construction, adding the engineering design and management measures will ensure the smooth operation of the boundary control point.

The terminus and interchange are situated within the Frontier Closed Area. Only franchised buses and minibuses approved by the Transport Department, taxis and cross boundary passengers can use the interchange.

The bureau said it has been working to ensure the smooth operation of the terminus, the cross boundary facilities inside it and the public transport interchange after the commissioning of the Spur Line in early 2007.
