27 building plans approved in December

Buildings Department

The Buildings Department approved 27 building plans in December last year - six on Hong Kong Island, 10 in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories.

 

Of the approved plans, 15 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, three were for commercial developments, four were for factory and industrial developments and five were for community services developments.

 

In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 12 building projects that, when completed, will provide 189,329 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 3,161 units, and 117,285 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department has received notification of commencement of work for 11 building projects, and issued 23 occupation permits - six on Hong Kong Island, 11 in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

 

Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic use were 144,178 square metres, involving 1,267 units, and 271,209 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

New buildings completed valued at about $4.8b

The declared cost of the new buildings completed in December totalled about $4.82 billion.

 

Meanwhile, 10 demolition consents involving 10 building structures were issued.

 

The department received 1,784 complaints against unauthorised building works in December, and issued 4,231 removal orders on unauthorised works.
