Works delay won't affect waiting time

*
Housing Authority & Housing Department

Works progress in three public housing construction sites is slow, but the total public housing production commitment and the average waiting time will not be affected, Deputy Director of Housing Ada Fung says.

The construction sites are Shek Pai Wan Estate Redevelopment Phase 2 and Fanling Area 36 Phase 1 and 2, all undertaken by the same contractor.

"Having reviewed the situation, the Housing Authority's Building and Tender Committees have decided to give the contractor more time to see if the contractor can comply with contract requirements in a sustainable manner," Ms Fung said.

The contractor's performance will be closely monitored and reviewed, she added.
