Travel plan: Mainland visitors should plan their trip to Hong Kong Disneyland in advance. |
|
Mainland visitors heading for Hong Kong Disneyland should buy return transport tickets and check in advance if admission tickets are available, the Transport Department says.
Principal Transport Officer Lo Yat-cheung expects many Mainland visitors once the park opens September 12. He urged they plan their journeys in advance and avoid coming to Hong Kong during peak periods. They should also use Lo Wu checkpoint as waiting times at Lok Ma Chau may be longer.
Sixty quotas have been allocated for cross-boundary coach services. Some are dedicated to shuttle services between Huanggang and Disneyland. Other quotas are for long-haul operations between the park and Guangdong cities like Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Shunde and Shenzhen.
Bus route R21 (Hung Hom-Disneyland) will be re-routed to stop at the China Ferry Terminal bus terminus from September 12. Apart from the existing six bus routes, the following new services will be introduced that day:
* the KCR Railbus - a single trip package covering a Lo Wu -Sheung Shui KCR Travel Pass and a Sheung Shui-Disneyland bus coupon, will run daily from 7.30am until the hour after the end of the fireworks display, every 30 minutes; and,
* the Disneyland-Huanggang shuttle cross-boundary coach service will run daily from 7am until 90 minutes after the end of the fireworks at a frequency of three to 60 minutes.
