20 building plans approved in July

Buildings Department

The Buildings Department approved 20 building plans in July - eight on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

 

Nine of the plans were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, four were for factory and industrial developments, and three were for community-services developments.

 

In July, consent was given for work to start on 10 building projects that, when completed, will provide 2,701 units with 172,098 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, and 27,368 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

The department also received commencement of work notices for 12 building projects.

 

The department issued 16 occupation permits - six on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and three in the New Territories.

 

The buildings certified for occupation offer 1,666 units, with 124,754 square metres for  domestic use and 19,254 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

Completed buildings' cost: $925m

The declared cost of the new buildings completed in July totalled about $925 million.

 

Five demolition consents were also issued in July.

 

The department received 2,569 complaints against unauthorised building works in July, and issued 1,471 removal orders on unauthorised works.
