Tenders invited for new traffic system
*
Transport Department

The Transport Department will invite tenders to build a system co-ordinating traffic signals in Tuen Mun and Yuen Long. Works will start next January for completion in September 2008.

Rapid housing and new town developments in the districts have increased traffic in both regional and local road networks. The present signal system is isolated and each junction works on its own.

The department wants a new system for more efficient traffic management and monitoring of the road network. It has appointed Delcan Arup Joint Venture to design and supervise the construction.
