CS to head Sustainable Development Council
*

The Chief Executive has appointed the Chief Secretary for Administration to chair the Council for Sustainable Development and Dr Edgar Cheng as its deputy from March 1, for two years.

 

Council members are: Dr Lily Chiang, Choy So-yuk, Barrie Cook, Christine Fang, Hans Michael Jebsen, Thomas Kwok, Professor Lam Kin-che, Andrew Liao, Otto Poon, Tai Hay-lap, Tik Chi-yuen and Professor Tsui Lap-chee, along with the Secretaries for Economic Development & Labour, Environment, Transport & Works, Health, Welfare & Food, and Housing, Planning & Lands.

 

The Council will be a forum for exchanging views on key issues related to Hong Kong's long-term sustainable development.

 

Members will meet at the end of March to discuss the Council's work programme, including the establishment of the Sustainable Development Fund and a sustainable development strategy for Hong Kong.
