Appointments

Racial harmony body members named
*

Three new members have been appointed to the Committee on Promotion of Racial Harmony for a two-year term. They are Raees Begum Baig, Manohar Chugh, Amarjeet Singh Khosa.

 

Existing members are Louise Chan, Diya Gurung, Annie Lin, Khan Muhammad Malik, Sem Lim Njauw, Ng Wong Lien-fa, Adrielle Panares, Prem Chandra Rai, Vandana Rajwani, Muhammed Javed Shahab, Buddhi Bahadur Thapa, Saeed-Uddin, and Fermi Wong.

 

Apart from non-official members, the committee also includes representatives from the Education & Manpower Bureau, the Home Affairs Department, the Information Services Department and the Labour Department.

 

It is a non-statutory advisory body to advise the Government on public education and publicity to foster racial harmony in the community and to enhance mutual understanding between people of different ethnic origins.
